Representatives from a number of Suffolk businesses joined together last month to tidy up the car park at homeless charity Emmaus Suffolk. Do Good Networking organises events where attendees network while giving back to local charities in and around Suffolk. In September, they held a socially-distanced event to support Ipswich-based charity Emmaus.

Last month Do Good Networking, which was founded by Ipswich-based technical agency SimpleClick, held their first networking event since before the UK’s Covid-19 lockdown. The ethical business networking event involved pruning vegetation and weeding the borders in the car park of Emmaus Suffolk. Emmaus provides rehabilitation for homeless, socially-isolated and long term employed people in Suffolk.

Attendees spent the morning of 24 September undertaking ground maintenance at Emmaus’ Dales Road site, building valuable business relationships with one another while helping out the charity. Feedback from attendees at the event was overwhelmingly positive. They provided an important service to Emmaus while making business connections.

Jules Mackley, Event Coordinator at Do Good Networking, was thrilled with the turnout for the event: “We had a fantastic morning at Emmaus Suffolk! After the heavy rain we’d had to start the day, we were lucky that the sun shone all morning. I really love organising these events. We’d had such a long break due to the Coronavirus crisis, I’m very pleased our first event back went so well. I’m looking forward to seeing another good turnout at our October event!”

Do Good Networking will hold their next business networking event on 22 October 2020 at the People’s Community Garden in Ipswich, to support the charity ActivLives. The event will involve seasonal gardening tasks in the Wildflower Meadow and Bee Garden. Registration is open to all local business professionals in the Suffolk area.
