During a press conference last week, Razer proved why the company is the world’s leading lifestyle brand for gamers. In addition to the presentations on already known products, the Razer Barracuda X was also presented. This gaming headset is characterized by its particularly subtle and light design so that gamers can also use it comfortably on the go.

Many gamers know the problem: When choosing a headset, you don’t just look for good audio quality. Compatibility and suitability for everyday use are also important factors when buying. However, very few headsets can combine all these factors, which is why you often have to buy several headsets. But Razer is now providing a remedy with the Razer Barracuda X – the compatible, everyday gaming headset. If you are looking for ways to use your headset while playing you can check out boardgamearena, the latest video games releases, or NetBet.

The design of the Razer Barracuda X

When you take a look at the external qualities of the Razer Barracuda X, the first thing you notice is the simple, black design. “Bulky” designed headsets are not well suited for on the go, as their design is too conspicuous, and they are also difficult to stow away. The Razer Barracuda X, on the other hand, is characterized by the designers’ years of expertise. Clean lines meet subtle design and combine this with a detachable microphone. This makes the Barracuda X suitable for anyone who wants to use one headset for everything.

The auricles are designed in such a way that they easily adapt to any ear shape. They can also be adjusted as required. Furthermore, the plush cushions made of memory foam and the thick and soft headband ensure a comfortable fit. Added to this is the feather-light weight of 250 grams, which means that Razer guarantees all-day comfort. Whether on the go or at home, the all-rounder Razer Barracuda X should always be a loyal companion for gamers in their eventful everyday life.

The compatibility of the Barracuda X

Many gamers don’t just have one gaming platform that they like to play on. In addition, many gamers want to use their headset to listen to music on the go. However, many Bluetooth headsets cannot be easily connected to consoles or smartphones. Here, too, the Barracuda X can help. The Bluetooth USB adapter enables gamers to connect the headset to four platforms: PC, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and Android. The Razer Barracuda X works according to the plug and play principle: Simply connect the USB adapter to the appropriate platform and you can start right away. No further downloads are necessary.

The adapter has a USB-C connection. However, since not every device has a corresponding port, an adapter for USB-A ports is included with the Razer Barracuda X. Accordingly, a suitable charging cable is also included to always be able to guarantee a battery life of up to 20 hours. In addition, the adapter has a four-pole, 3.5 mm input when analogue audio pleasure is important.

The technical details

Last but not least, we will talk about the inner workings of the Razer Barracuda X. This shows that Razer not only understands chic design, but also technical know-how. Take a look at the key points here:

Of course, this one is not the only option. Other notable headsets are:

HyperX Cloud Revolver S

The best high-end PC gaming headset

Connection: Cable (USB) Features: 50mm driver, 7.1 surround sound, Dolby DSP

When we first took a closer look at the HyperX Cloud Revolver S, we didn’t quite know what to think of it. On the one hand, it offers outstanding 7.1 surround sound, which comes directly from the patented Dolby Digital signal processor. On the other hand, it is extremely expensive compared to other similar gaming headsets. However, these are also by far the best headphones we’ve seen and heard from Kingston to date. The first-class sound and pleasant comfort overlook the high price and the rather oddly placed detachable microphone. It costs around 150 euros.

SteelSeries Arctis Pro

The insider tip

Connection: Cable (USB) Features: 40 mm driver, foldable microphone, RGB lighting, including digital-to-analogue converter, DTS Headphone: X v2.0 Surround Sound

If there’s one thing you can rely on with SteelSeries, it’s flawless sound – and the SteelSeries Arctis Pro is living proof of that. This headset not only delivers immersive surround sound for your games with lots of action but thanks to the integrated DAU (digital-to-analogue converter), the Arctis Pro will also serve you well when listening to music. The price is over 200 euros though.
