Barratt Homes has received a generous amount of gift-filled shoeboxes at its Chilmington Green Sales and Marketing Suite in Ashford, Kent, last week. Thanks to efforts from the local community, all shoeboxes will be donated to Samaritan’s Purse’s Operation Christmas Child campaign, where they will be distributed to children across the world for Christmas.
Operation Christmas Child began in 1990 and has now delivered shoeboxes filled with gifts to more than 188 million children in over 150 countries worldwide. Residents and members of the local community in Ashford delivered shoeboxes containing a variety of treats including colouring pens, soft toys and hygiene items to Barratt Kent’s Sales and Marketing Suite at Chilmington Green between 15thand 22ndNovember.

Once again, the community turned out in full force to support this initiative and their generosity will bring festive cheer to children in need across the globe this Christmas. This year, Barratt Homes has collected a total of 486 shoeboxes across its developments in Kent and East Sussex. The housebuilder registered a number of its sites as drop off points, including at Chilmington Green in Ashford.

We have over 500 volunteers at the regional processing centre in Tunbridge Wells who will package up the shoeboxes before dispatching across the world to be delivered to children in need.”
