New homes builder, Miller Homes Southern, has donated £2,800 to Hampshire-based homelessness organisation, Two Saints.

Based at its regional headquarters in Basingstoke, the Miller Homes team undertook a variety of fundraising activities, including bake sales, a costume competition, film nights, a raffle and a silent auction, raising a total of £1,400.

To help the ongoing services supplied by Two Saints, including providing vital support to vulnerable people in Hampshire and the surrounding area, the home builder then matched the amount raised, increasing the total raised to £2,800.

The donation will go towards supporting the organisation’s important services which include providing accommodation, mental health support and financial advice to those in need.

Commenting on the team’s fundraising efforts, Katrina Crawford, sales and marketing director for Miller Homes Southern, said:

“The past year and a half has been particularly challenging for many charitable organisations across the nation. With a number of lockdowns and less opportunities for in-person fundraising, many of these organisations have faced reduced levels of donations. That’s why fundraising projects like this are particularly special for us, as it means we can do our bit to support a local cause that does such fantastic work for those in need in and around Hampshire.

“This time of year is often the most difficult for the homeless and those who are sleeping rough, but the work the team at Two Saints does to support them each and every day is truly inspiring. We hope this donation goes some way towards helping them continue the fantastic work they do.

Steve Benson, Chief Executive at Two Saints, added:

“The pandemic had a major impact on us, not only affecting the services we were able to offer, but also the way we could interact and generally support those who are homeless or vulnerable. Thankfully, with the help of funding and donations such as this one from Miller Homes, we have been able to ensure all our clients can receive the support they need.

“If we’ve learnt anything over the past year, it’s that community and togetherness is extremely important – values we hold dear as an organisation. So, I’d like to say a huge thank you to Miller Homes on behalf of all of us at Two Saints.”
