Key workers from across Hampshire were able to find out all about the benefits of shared ownership this weekend (11th & 12th June) when they attended an exclusive event for the region’s essential workers at Sovereign’s popular Knights Quarter development in central Winchester.
Prospective purchasers were invited to attend the two-day event to find out more about shared ownership, and the incentives available to key workers, to help get them moving. Visitors enjoyed a guided tour of the development, including the show apartment and the properties available for sale, and were able to spend time with Sovereign’s experienced team to find out more about life at Knights Quarter.
Sovereign’s Head of Sales, Claire Blenkin, commented: “It was great to meet so many local key workers over the weekend. Our location in Winchester is in walking distance of some of the city’s biggest employers, making it a great location to put down roots.
“Shared ownership is an incredibly appealing option for people looking to get onto the property ladder or downsize. It offers an affordable and realistic route to home ownership, and this is something that seemed to really resonate with visitors attending the event.
“Put simply, Sovereign partners with each purchaser to share the cost of buying a new home. Individuals only buy the share of the property that’s right for them – anywhere between 25% and 75% – and the deposit they pay starts at 5% of their share value, so at Knights Quarter this could be as low as £5,500.”
To celebrate the success of the event, Sovereign is now extending incentives to all purchasers. Anyone interested in finding out more is invited to make an appointment. Incentives are available on specific plots for a reservation date of no later than 30th June 2022. Homes at Knights Quarter start at £111,000 and to qualify for shared ownership, purchasers must be over 18, have a household income less than £80,000 and cannot already own a home.
Situated on Romsey Road in the heart of the city centre, Knights Quarter comprises a contemporary collection of one- and two-bedroom apartments in 20 different layouts. Homes benefit from open plan, modern interiors with oven, hob and extractor fan, carpets and flooring, and selected plots have a balcony or terrace. The vibrant development offers the best of city and country living; the thriving city centre is just a ten-minute walk away, London Waterloo is accessible by train in just over an hour and Hampshire’s most scenic countryside including the South Downs National Park is on the doorstep.
