ALMOST A THIRD OF BRIGHTON’S MARRIED COUPLES REGRET THEIR WEDDING

Brighton isn’t the wedding location of choice for nearly a fifth of married locals who wish they had instead gone abroad for their big day, whilst nearly one in ten (9%) confess that despite their best efforts, the day was a ‘complete disaster.’

Nearly one quarter of married people in Brighton were let down by their entertainment, whilst one in ten (11%) said they were so stressed they didn’t even enjoy the day. This contrasts with the 8% who enjoyed the day a bit too much after admitting to drinking more than they should have.

Nearly one fifth (18%) of married Brits in Brighton admitted they didn’t speak to the people they wanted to, while one in ten (11%) admitted some guests didn’t bother attending and 8% were bored at their own wedding.

The research from instantprint revealed the marriage mayhem was predominantly caused by managing budgets (35%), table plans (25%) and choosing the dress (12%).

Nearly one fifth of Brighton residents said they struggled to play nice with the in-laws along with 16% being unable to amicably agree on the venue.

Perhaps unsurprisingly for those who have been a groom, one quarter of men worried most about delivering a funny and heartfelt speech.

Though the terror didn’t last for long as more than three quarters (77%) said the day went by in a flash.

Jon Constantine-Smith, Head of instantprint, said Your wedding is one of the most important days of your life and it’s shocking to find that so many Brits are disappointed in how their big day turned out.

There is a lot of planning that goes into one day and we have worked with our buyers to reveal current trends, colours and styles for our new wedding stationery line and we hope it can ease a little pressure for those couples planning their nuptials in the future.”
