As part of Glad to Care Awareness Week (5th to 9th July), Essex developer David Wilson Homes has sent a care package to Mansion House Residential Home to send thoughts of positivity as the end of Covid-19 restrictions are in sight.
At a time when many people have been unable to receive visits from loved ones, the donation to the residential home, located close to the homebuilder’s Corinthian Place development in Burnham-on-Crouch, provided a mix of essential items and entertainment for the residents.
Within the care package was body wash, small bars of soap, boxes of chocolates, jigsaw puzzles, a magnetic board game set, puzzle books and a large pack of greetings cards, for the residents to write to friends and family.
Geraldine Yesil, Manager at Mansion House Residential Home, said: “To receive a wonderful donation during these unprecedented times and to know that there are people thinking of us is simply wonderful. We are very grateful to David Wilson Homes.”
As well as the necessary healthcare items and chocolates for a treat, it’s important for those living at the residential home enjoy the day-to-day social activities.
With restrictions on visitors in residential homes slowly easing, David Wilson Homes included jigsaw puzzles and a board game set as a fun way for the residents to make memories again with loved ones.
Simon Wood, Managing Director at David Wilson Eastern Counties, said: “Now the end of restrictions is nearly upon us, we wanted to show our support for key workers and the residents of residential homes within the communities in which we build.
“Our donation of a care package to Mansion House Residential Home is a symbol of togetherness, whilst letting the more vulnerable members of our community know they are in our thoughts.”
