Barratt David Wilson Homes has received a total of 33 gift-filled shoeboxes at its Kingsbrook Canal Quarter and Orchard Green Sales and Marketing Suites in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, last week. Thanks to efforts from the local community, all shoeboxes will be donated to Samaritan’s Purse’s Operation Christmas Child campaign, where they will be distributed to children across the world for Christmas.

Operation Christmas Child began in 1990 and has now delivered shoeboxes filled with gifts to more than 188-million children in over 150 countries worldwide. Residents and members of the local community in Aylesbury delivered shoeboxes containing a variety of treats including colouring pens, soft toys and hygiene items to Barratt David Wilson North Thames’ Sales and Marketing Suites at Kingsbrook between 15th and 22ndNovember.

Karly Williams, Sales and Marketing Director at Barratt North Thames, comments: “It is so exciting to kickstart the season of giving in Aylesbury as part of our annual Operation Christmas Child collection. Once again, the community turned out in full force to support this initiative and their generosity will bring festive cheer to children in need across the globe this Christmas. We hope these packages will help bring joy to the children during the festive period and beyond.”

This year, Barratt North Thames has collected a total of more than 280 shoeboxes across its developments in Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire. The housebuilder registered a number of its sites as drop off points, including at Canal Quarter and Orchard Green in Aylesbury.

Nick Cole, Director of Operation Christmas Child, adds: “We thank the organisations who have given up their time and space to become a drop-off point for our campaign. We have over 500 volunteers at the regional processing centre in Tunbridge Wells who will package up the shoeboxes before despatching across the world to be delivered to children in need.”

Barratt David Wilson Homes North Thames is building its Canal Quarter at Kingsbrook development in Aylesbury, where a collection of three and four-bedroom homes are available. Prices start from £372,995 for three-bedroom home.
