L&Q’s latest launch of Shared Ownership homes at Beaulieu are nearly all reserved, with only three one bedroom apartments remaining. Part of a new residential neighborhood, the homes are located just moments from Chelmsford and will open their doors on Saturday 27th July and Sunday 28th July for a public viewing weekend.
The joint venture between L&Q and Countryside will bring a total of 3,600 new homes to the area, in addition to new schools, health facilities, and retail outlets. Following the success of previous phases, the new homes will be meeting a high demand from first time buyers looking to live in a flourishing community with excellent commuter links into Central London.
Helping families take their first step onto the property ladder, the launch, which consists of 20 one and two bedroom apartments and two and three bedroom houses available through Shared Ownership, is almost completely reserved.
Sales and Customer Service Director for L&Q’s Counties region, Christine Osborne comments: “Beaulieu is a growing suburban community that we are thrilled to be a part of. We’re seeing interested buyers from London, Chelmsford, and other areas of Essex coming into Beaulieu for its idyllic suburban location, surrounded by acres of open space and convenient links into central London. There is likely to be a great deal of interest from first time buyers looking for a home that doesn’t sacrifice space for affordability.
We’re particularly excited about bringing such a large selection of houses available through Shared Ownership to Beaulieu. Many first-time buyers are looking for a home that they won’t outgrow in the coming years – these houses give buyers the opportunity to settle down and build their future without worrying about having to move again soon after.”
Families will appreciate the selection of superb state and private schools Chelmsford has to offer. Many of the local schools are regularly included in The Sunday Times Good Schools Guide. Beaulieu itself is home to Beaulieu Park School, Essex’s first all-through school, and New Hall School, a leading independent day and boarding school.
Beaulieu is the ideal suburban hotspot for city workers. Chelmsford Rail Station is just three miles from the development, with trains reaching Stratford in just 25 minutes and London Liverpool Street in 34. Connections are only set to grow as Beaulieu will benefit from its own rail station, offering direct links into London. In addition, a new relief road will connect residents directly to the A12, and surrounding roads provide convenient access to Stansted international airport – a 16 mile journey via the A130.
For those looking to stay closer to home, there is no shortage of nearby entertainment and health facilities. Chelmsford has been awarded the Purple Flag award for its fun and welcoming nightlife – local favourites include The Golden Fleece and The Orange Tree, loved for their selection of cask ales and excellent food. Beaulieu will feature 180 acres of open green space that ranges from open meadows to manicured gardens. For those looking to keep fit, the new Riverside Ice and Leisure Centre boasts two pools, an ice rink, and a number of sports clubs for all ages.
The Shared Ownership homes designed by BDG Architecture & Design, are set amongst themed, manicured gardens. The landscape led scheme includes an elaborate network of footpaths, cycle routes, and bridleways in an effort to ensure the area is completely accessible without having to rely on a car.
Beaulieu homes come with integrated kitchens featuring Electrolux and Zanussi appliances. The contemporary bathrooms are fitted with white sanitaryware and ceramic tiling, while the carpeted master bedrooms have ample storage with built-in mirrored wardrobes. Every home will have at least one allocated parking space.
Prices start from £54,375 for a 25% share of a one bedroom apartment (full market value £217,500).
