Food tech start-up, Cook My Grub, has announced an initiative that’s expected to provide hundreds of cooked meals for charity this December – with 100 going to five Salvation Army churches across Berkshire and Buckinghamshire. Cook my Grub are donating meals to The Salvation Army churches in High Wycombe, Slough, Maidenhead, Wokingham and Reading, the initiative is hoped to raise awareness of the incredible work the Christian church and charity does supporting those who have fallen on hard times.
Running from the 1st through to 24th December, the UK’s leading marketplace for home-cooked food has pledged to deliver one home-cooked meal for every £25 spent on the platform.
The founders of Cook My Grub, Dinesh Patil and Shabbir Mookhtiar, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with a number of outstanding charities that make a real difference in their local community. The value that having a hearty, healthy, home-cooked meal should never be underestimated, and we hope our Buy to Give initiative helps those in need at what can be a particularly challenging time of year.”

As well as supporting The Salvation Army, Cook My Grub will be donating meals to a number of other charities across the South East, including SPEAR London (Richmond), Browns Community Services (Maidenhead), People to Places (Maidenhead), and Binfield Lighthouse Programme (Bracknell).
To encourage even more orders through the app, and more free meals for their chosen charities, the Cook My Grub team has also launched a bespoke Christmas offering this year, with diners able to order their very own home-cooked Christmas dinner through the platform.
