A Shefford based home has two reasons to celebrate following their five-year anniversary and receiving their highest score on a review site.
MHA Oak Manor opened its doors for the first time in 2017 and provides residential and dementia care for 64 residents.
The home was awarded a score of 10, which is the highest score possible following 62 reviews on review site carehome.co.uk
The reviews are based on the experiences of residents and are usually given by family members.
It’s the first time the home has received this score, which couldn’t have come at a better time as they also celebrated their 5th year anniversary
Fay Gooch, home manager said: “We have been trying very hard to hit that number 10 and we have been very close for a long time, so I am proud of the home.
“The score was 9.9 for a while and we were all willing it over the line, so it was a lovely surprise and it’s something that was timed perfectly.
“Firstly, I feel the home has grown and progressed massively since we opened in 2017 and it’s a great accolade for us.
“We are proudly displaying the certificate in the reception area and it’s something we are all very happy to see when we come into work.
“Staff have shared the news and we are hoping to share the news with family members soon.
“The outcome is a testament of the work staff have done, and we will be having a party to celebrate both achievements.”
