Making the decision to move home is not a simple one, but a new survey from leading housebuilder Barratt and David Wilson Homes has revealed the main influence that would make Norfolk homebuyers move sooner.

The survey, conducted by the five star developer*, disclosed that residents in Norfolk deem the quality of the local neighbourhood as a key factor that would push them to make a move sooner.

Therefore, the housebuilder is identifying why its developments in the county could encourage property seekers in the area to move home sooner.

Quality of the Local Neighbourhood

21% of homebuyers in Norfolk said that they would be more likely to move sooner if they were moving into a good quality neighbourhood.

Annette Hurst, Sales Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Eastern Counties, said: “Whether there’s already an established community, or only a handful of residents moved in, we thrive on making our developments and the local area a top place to live.

“Through our S106 agreements, we help to improve the local area with investment into schooling, transport or sports facilities.”

For example, as part of the £984,500 contribution to Wayland Fields, Barratt Homes is investing £670,000 in the expansion of early years education provision. Infant class space at Watton Westfield Infant and Nursery School and junior class space at Wayland Junior Academy is being increased.

A total of £155,000 is being invested in outdoor sports facilities and maintenance, whilst £13,500 is being put towards increasing the capacity of Watton Library.

Annette added: “We also donate £1,000 each month to local charities and organisations in the area through our Community Fund Scheme so we can support those who help the residents of Norfolk.

“Alongside this, we often work with local schools and nurseries, such as our Building Buddies scheme with Horsford Primary School to encourage younger pupils to consider careers in construction.”

Barratt and David Wilson Homes currently has a variety of properties available in Norfolk at the following developments: Kingfisher Meadow, Cringleford Heights, Wayland Fields and Woodland Heath.
